What determines the cost of booking a band or DJ?
Every quote reflects the scope of your event, from ensemble and timing to logistics. Request a quote and we'll provide a detailed breakdown.
How far in advance should I book?
Book weddings and corporate events as early as possible. Hotels and venues can often be secured with just three weeks to a month of notice.
What events do you cover?
Weddings, corporate events, private functions, venues, and public events. If your event calls for curated live music done right, we're the right fit.
What kinds of music can I book?
From string quartets to DJs to sounds you won't find anywhere else. If you can imagine it, we can bring it to your event.
Who are your musicians?
Our roster draws from top university music programs, each musician booked and paid fairly for their craft.
Do you provide sound equipment?
We provide all sound equipment. All we need is access to power, and we can bring our own if that's not available.
Do you book outside LA?
We currently cover the Bay Area during the summer, with plans to expand there year round.
How does booking work?
- Submit an inquiry. Tell us about your event and the vibe you want.
- We build your entertainment request to perfection, selecting musicians one at a time, arranging music, and creating a presence to fit exactly what you are looking for.
- Shape the set list together. You approve all music in advance.
- We handle all the logistics. Booking, load in, timing, sound, and coordination with your venue or planner.

Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit secures your date and is due at booking. It's non refundable once paid, with your remaining balance due one week before your event.
What's your cancellation policy?
Your deposit locks in your date and commits our musicians to your event, which is why it's non refundable. Once your remaining balance is paid, one week before your event, that payment is non refundable as well.
Do you play outdoor events?
We perform outdoors often, and always come prepared to move inside or adapt if weather turns.
Can we book live music and a DJ for the same event?
A string quartet for cocktails, a DJ for the dance floor, whatever your day calls for, we can build it.
Do bands take breaks during a set?
Sets run up to 1.5 hours with a 15 minute break in between, so our musicians always sound their best.
Do musicians rehearse before the event?
Every set list is arranged and rehearsed ahead of time with our music directors, so it's ready before you hear a single note live.
Do you sign a contract?
Every booking includes a signed contract, and we'll walk you through it together.
Are you insured?
Next Degree Music Co. carries commercial general liability insurance.
